This Book’s Purposes

There are four primary purposes of this book:
  1. I will teach you what scientists really believe and why, and I will point out the things that many Bible believers erroneously think they believe. I will present the science to you in an accessible way, as if you have no background in science at all.
  2. I will enable you to witness to a scientist without looking like a fool. There are things that Bible believers say that cause a scientist to immediately realize that they are confused or ignorant or both. (See the Introduction.) Until you have learned what I intend to teach you in this book, I would advise you not to try witnessing to scientists.
  3. I will provide you with arguments that you can present to a scientist that might plant a seed.
  4. I will show you that the Bible and science are not inconsistent. They don’t contradict each other. You can accept all the science that I will teach you without dishonoring God by sacrificing the truth or inerrancy of the Bible. So, as you are reading, you don’t need to get defensive and start fighting back.
