Occam's Razor
The Atom
Niels Bohr concluded, based on experimental evidence, that each atom consists of a core nucleus composed of protons and neutrons with electrons orbiting around the nucleus in the same way that planets orbit around the sun. (Hydrogen is the exception to this rule, as it has no neutrons, only one proton, and only one electron.) Years later, scientists decided that Bohr's theory is wrong, and they replaced it with a more complicated quantum mechanical model that explained the newer experimental results. So, the simplest theory of Bohr's time was incorrect. Occam's Razor failed in this situation.
