THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT IS TOO BIG
The Founding Fathers never intended for the United States government to be as big as it is. It was supposed to be very small. Of course a government was necessary to handle some things, such as preventing companies from acquiring monopolies, but most of the time, the government shouldn't be interfering in our lives.
When the United States was formed, there was no income tax. Can you even imagine today's government balancing a budget without income tax? But that's how it originally was. Then, in World War I, the government started making people pay income tax to fund the war. Well, the war ended, but income tax did not. Do you realize that we're still paying to fund World War I?
So what should I do to reduce the size of the government and potentially bring an end to income taxes? I hear Presidential candidates say they'll remove redundancy and waste. But rather than starting from what we have now and cutting little pieces of the government off here and there, I will take the opposite approach. I'll start with the government that the Founding Fathers originally set up, and then any agencies that weren't around then will be required to convince me that their existence is truly necessary.
If we have enough courage, we can reduce the government to its original size and eliminate income taxes.
