SPIRIT AND FLETCH

I love my Lord. He is so good to me. He gives me food. He puts a roof over my head. He takes me on nice long walks.
I live to serve my Lord. I want nothing more than to please Him. When He says, “Sit,” I sit. And He is pleased. When He says, “Lie down,” I lie down. And He is pleased. When He says, “Stand up,” I stand up. And He is pleased.
One day, I was bored, and I asked my brother, Fletch, what I should do. He said, “Let’s sit!” So I sat. But when I did, my Lord became angry. He said, “I didn’t tell you to sit. I want you to stand up.” So I quickly stood up. And He was pleased again.
I remember the time my Lord brought home a brand new doggie bed. I was so thrilled! Fletch said, “Let’s lie down!” So I walked on to the cushion, and I was about to lie down when I remembered what had happened the last time I listened to Fletch. So I looked at my Lord with questioning eyes. And He responded, “I think you know what I want you to do.” So I laid down. And He was pleased.
Today, my Lord is watching television, and I’m looking up at Him with questioning eyes to find out what He wants me to do. He looks at me and says, “You may do whatever you want.” So I ask Fletch, and he says, “Let’s sit!” So I sit. And my Lord is pleased.
