Support Freedom

I love America. To me, it's by far the greatest nation conceivable, and I'm proud to be a citizen. This supreme country has endured 213 years --- far longer than most would have predicted at the outset. It's so unfortunate that it has to end now. Yes, the United States is entering its decline.

The problem is, the very principles upon which this nation was built are fading. People are growing so used to the benefits of living here, that they are losing sight of what they really have. We're forgetting what it was that made this country so great.

I'm speaking of freedom. Our forefathers realized that this God-given gift needed protection, or it would soon be lost. So, they developed a government and a set of laws only to insure that one person's use of their freedom does not limit another person's freedom.

Who benefits from this? Everyone? Well, not the nation's amoebas. The American government in no way protects the amoeba's right to its freedom. Of course, that's a ridiculous concept. The amoeba goes whichever way the current goes, consumes whatever happens to collide with it, and it splits whenever the time is right. It has no use for freedom, because it exerts no free will.

A sperm, as well, has no free will, so our government has no need to protect its freedom. This is fortunate, because otherwise sex would have to be outlawed. (Consider, during sex, thousands of sperm die.)

How about a fetus? It eats whatever it's fed, (it never turns down spinach), goes wherever Mommy goes, and comes out whenever it's pushed. A fetus demonstrates no free will. The government has no reason to protect its freedom, because the fetus wouldn't know what to do with it. The government has no right to regulate a fetus's existence, unless that fetus imposes on a human being's freedom.

I can hear the pro-lifers arguing that a fetus has the potential to possess free will. Doesn't a sperm have that same potential? Why should conception be such a special starting point, if a fetus has no more free will than a sperm? This endless slaughter of helpless sperms must stop!!!
