A TEST STORY
by Ken Samuel
When I wrote a program to help me write choose-your-own-adventure stories, this was the story I used to test it.
You are walking along a busy street one day, when suddenly, you realize that you are thinking!!! This fact surprises you so much that you trip and fall in the middle of the street. As you probably expected, a car drives up to you, but instead of running over you, he stops and says, "Want a lift?" As you have never before heard a car talk, this one startled you slightly, but you realize that, as this is only a pretend story, it could probably happen. So after reading all of that (which probably took you half an hour), have you finally decided what you want to do???
You get in the car (as you probably expected you would, since you DID choose to), and the car drives forward (also which you probably expected although there may have been a hint of doubt in your mind (what mind???)). But, as you probably didn't expect (although you may have if you have read this story before), the car suddenly folds itself up into a suitcase! You feel slightly cramped as you eat your nose and poke your big toe extremely deeply into your rear end. You finally die when your right ear pokes itself directly into your left eye. Goodbye, dear stupid friend.
The End
You attempt to kill yourself and are fairly successful as, although the first five cars steer around you, the sixth one crashes right into your brain. You may be happy to learn that the car didn't get a single dent from the accident.
