"JUST FRIENDS"
December, 1989.
Dedicated to Kathleen (Dry) Judice, who has been a good friend since 1989.
She called us "just friends,"
That poisonous phrase,
And since she said that,
I'm lost in a daze.
Why can't it be more?
But what's wrong with less?
But in my confusion,
Thoughts weave through the mess.
We can be just friends!
We can be great pals!
That doesn't mean we won't smile.
'Cause friends are rare gems,
As precious as gold,
And friendships last more than a while.
We'd go to a show,
Just me, her, and him.
I'd always compete,
To get her attention.
She talks of her guy,
And that always hurts.
My feelings repressed...
...relevation...
But feelings can change,
When light shines on truth.
unfinished...
